I create projects such as MOVE Open Mic + #52SpokenWords + #13YouAre using my given gifts to glorify God, while also collaborating with kingdom mind individuals using their given gifts to create beautiful projects together.
This project has ended.
Stay tune for new updates but the stories are still live to read.
Spoken word is usually known and performed at open mics. It's the oral art that focuses on the aesthetics of word play, intonation and voice inflection. It's the performance of words recited out loud through traditional poetry readings, jazz poetry, and poetry slams that can include comedy and prone monologue.
Back in high school + college, I did a bit of spoken word. This helped me become a leader in my words through poetry using creativity + art. It was something that kept me so driven to want to inspire others through words + performance. After graduating from San Jose State University in 2013, my spoken word began to fade away. I drifted away from my life of art + design to become a full time mom + wife.
Now, about four years out of college I have gained a new perspective in my life and business. #52SpokenWords is my personal project I’ve launched to showcase my love for lettering + calligraphy + faith using one word spoken to me from God that connects to my story. Each word is chosen through reflection + prayer.
Follow me on this journey for 52 weeks, as I regain a creative connection with myself and hopefully a connection with you.
#52SpokenWords Project Series Launched June 2017
It was a silent night and I could not think of anything to write, until God spoke to me to reach out to the women He placed in my life. It was when this series started, that my words weren't all about me, it was my community and most importantly the community of influence of these women. Every word can be spoken to any one, but the story within the word is different. Featuring the many beautiful women who I've connected with in my life as they get to share their spoken word with you. These stories are to showcase the power of faith and how God whispered to them and they listened wholeheartedly in His plan.
Project Launch April 2017
YOU ARE was created and inspired by the Netflix hype, 13 Reasons Why.
